Education

Magia dell’Opera® is our on-going educational project endorsed by the Italian Ministry of Education ; every year since 2005 it has been involving thousands of schoolchildren (aged 7 to 13), together with their teachers and families, in the discovery of the art of opera. In 2017 a new project of Opera education addressed to kindergarten children (aged 3 to 6) was developed and started: OperaBimbi.

Both courses include a preliminary stage of professional training for the teachers that enables them to guide the children along the learning path facilitating their access to a masterpiece of the great operatic repertoire.

Through musical and historical background notions combined with hands-on experiential learning and laboratories of physical and vocal activity, project participants discover the characters, follow  the opera plot, and become familiar with the languages of music and acting. The course ends with  an opera performed in theatre by professional singers with the active participation of the children who sing choral parts. 

Aside these projects the Association also organizes:

• Workshops and interactive advanced courses for high school teens.
• Seminars with guided listening and video projections, building music literacy and listening skills amongst opera first time adult audience .
• Advanced multimedia seminars providing opportunities to analyze in depth and gain new insights on opera, addressed to life-long opera lovers and scholars.
